Today the NCC cadets from Arts and Science college of Udaipur visited our Center in Ramnagar. The cadets had shown their keen interest to be involved in social activities. Mr. Radha krishan Shankar was a special visitor today. When he entered the centre the cadets welcomed him by giving salute. He congratulated Dr. Kailash Brijwasi on the initiative for the education of the children in Ram Nagar. The biggest event was the plantation of a tree in the school yard by the special guests. Educational tour to Haldighatti with Apna Jatan Kendre |

Quaterly trip of Apna JatanKendre Udaipur to Haldighatti As a special adventure for the children Jatan Sansthan organizes trips to different places of and around Udaipur. This time the children got the opportunity to learn something about the history of their home-city. So both the Centers met in the morning of 26th June 2011 to take taxis for a two-hour-ride to the historic place of Haldighatti. There they got to learn the story of Chetak, the horse of Maharana Pratap, who was the ruler of Udaipur in the middle of the 16th century. During a battle against the Mogul Akhbar,at the place where now HaldiGhatti is, the horse rescued its owner bravely, although it was already hurt. The story is often told in Udaipur and every citizen should see that wonderful museum, where the children could see a movie show, as well as a big puppet installation to tell the story and different presentations of special activities, like the making of sugar-cane-juice with the help of an ox. Because of the financial problems, much agricultural workload, gender biasness, child marriage, social and family boundations girls of the selected area are not getting a chance for education. The project was launched on 9th of April 2012 with the aim to support selected girls. The objectives are to promote the girls for quality education and also to convince their parents. This programme not only gives educational support but also provides the girls with professional training and helps them to select a good profession of their choice which will make them independent and improve their condition in family and society. |

Worker's Day Celebration |

On 4th May Jatan celebrated the International Worker's Day in Raipur. Workers from Rajsamand and Bhilwara participated in the program and enjoyed a nice set up with songs, games and a puppet show. |

On 27-03-2011 the annual Board Meeting was set up in Udaipur. The Jatan Staff presented all projects of the previous year to the pleased Board Members.

Lounging Ceremony of Educational Support Program for Girl-Child |
| |
Changing Lives through Education - The successful launching ceremony of the Educational Support Programme was completed on 9th April 2012. All selected girls attended this programme with their parents and other family members. The programme was started with lamp lighting by the girls. After the lamp lighting and prayers the information about the programme was disseminated among all the girls, their parents and other guests. The detail of the programme and its aim to change the lives of girls through quality education was shared among all the participants. The girls are encouraged for the higher study and their parents were promoted and convinced also to send their daughters to school. Sharing the concept of Mainstreaming HIV/AIDS |

On 22nd March 2012 Jatan hold a District level workshop at Shilpoi-Resort close to Udaipur to facilitate, support and to share the experiences of mainstreaming HIV/AIDS of the Civil Society Organisation (CSO) forum. That CSO Forum provides a platform to raise a social dialogue on issues related to HIV/AIDS among the major stakeholders and activities with enhanced community participation. Celebrating "International Women Day" with Elected Women Representatives (EWRS), Anganwadi Workers & ICDS officials at Chawada Mata Temple, Railmagra, Rajsamand on March 6th, 2012, Jatan organized games and activities for women. 35 women successfully completed their 3 month-skill-training in sewing and tailoring as well as a basic Beautician training organized by Jatan's program UGER and FVTRS Bangalore. The Indian Republic Day on 26.01.2012 was celebrated in Rajsamand with a big event including dances and marches by various groups. On December 16th to 17th, 2011 Dr. Kailash Brijwasi took part in the 5th National Skill Conference at the Gorky Sadan, Kolkata. He was invited to deliver a presentation of the topic EDP and its various aspects as one of the speaker. Entrepreneurship development is an important component of FVTRS activities in an effort to replicate and trigger more successful entrepreneurs. Dr. Kailash looked into how one could be instrumental in meeting the aspirations of the budding young minds to succeed as entrepreneurs. |

On WAD on 1.12.2011 the children of both Apna Centers started a march through their villages and distributed pamphlets to the people to raise awareness on the severe topic. |

New Makeup for the Apna Center |

In November 2011 the Center in Ram Nagar also got a new look. After the basic painting-work was completed by our volunteers, the children redesigned the center themselves by putting their own paintings on the walls of the center. |

For the special occassion of the Children's Day on November 14th, we took the Kids of our Apna Center in Ram Nagar to Gulab Bagh Garden to enjoy the playground, some delicious snacks and the happiness to be a child! The children of both centers were also invited to the R. Kay-Mall, Udaipur to celebrate the Children's Day with a film show. |

New Makeup for the Apna Center |

In September 2011 children, teachers and volunteers created a new design for the Apna Center in Neemach Kheda. The syudents enjoyed the painting and within three days the former grey building changed into a place where everyone loves to learn. |

From 17.-19. September 2011 some woman learnt to stitch various designs of bags during a workshop organized by Jatan. Jatan will try to sell the produced bags. The women could really expand their knowledge of techniques during these three days. |
